I'm just curious, because it seems that every major new game announced some kind of 3D capabilities.
But will the players follow?
I bought my TV just before last christmas and I don't think I will buy another one in the next couple of years - maybe when Playstation 4 arrives :-)
- lepiment No damm way i will buy a 3D TV right now. I have my dearest and closest Sony Bravia 40'' V Series at home, and i am very happy whit it!
It seems that the game company are trying to push us, the costumers, this new "technology" of display, spend more money in something that we need to use with a 3D glasses. That doesn't make sense.

- dirk_olbertz I also do not understand, why I need a new TV. The minimum changes for the customers should be to just buy a pair of shutter glasses.
Yes, the picture would not be as stable, because it would only repeat at about 25Hz, but this would be the cheapest way to get 3D gaming.
For about 250 USD just for the glasses I even might be curious enough to test it.1 year ago

- dirk_olbertz Did you ever play a 3D game? I did back in 199x. Some of you might remember those glasses from graphic cards manufactorers. I played a racing game then and it really helped the game.
So, I'm not against 3D games, I just don't see the need for such an expensive hardware upgrade.1 year ago
- vibed nice thread Dirk, really got the members involved in an important, upcoming matter, well by the time 3D gaming takes place i will probably be out working (i'm not unemployed, i'm still at school, nearly left) so i'm not quite sure weather i'll be investing into a expensive piece of equipment like that 1 year ago

I wear glasses, and while I can manage the occasional movie at 90 or 120 minutes, wearing 3D glasses over the top of my normal ones is uncomfortable and can bring on migraines.
I have no wish to subject myself to that on a regular basis, whether it be for watching TV shows in 3D or playing games in 3D.
I will not be interested in 3D until such time as they can present it without the need to wear any form of special glasses.1 year ago

Totally agreed.
Put on top of that the high cost for purchasing a new TV and the replacement glasses, in case you need it.
And don't forget there is not enough content yet that justifies the cost and the trouble. Give it at least 1yr before becoming "ready" for the average joe.1 year ago
- XombieDIRGE No way would I upgrade. 3D doesn't even really work for me 99% of the time so pretty much a total gimmick feature at this point. I think Sony are correct to put it out there now and get ahead of everyone, but at this point uptake is gonna be pretty low I think1 year ago
- dirk_olbertz I will be visiting [url=http://www.gamescom.de]GamesCon[/url] in August and look forward to test the 3D games. Yesterday I watched Coraline in 3D, but with those red/green glasses. The effects were nice and I would love to have those in a game, but the colours were off and also some parts somehow did not "match".
If the real 3D gaming experience is different, I might change my mind. 1 year ago

- darkfiremat 3D is crap why because it doesnt look good and real yet and it awfully bad for your eye i dont know if any of you own super stardust but since the 3D upgrade there is like 5 more page at start and guess for what to tell you that sony isnt responsible that you should stop even more often to play and bla bla bla so 3D overall is just bad as hell1 year ago

- rgoff31 Just like any new technology some people will jump onto it right away and others will just wait to replace the gear they have when they need to.
I saw some PC Demos of 3D gaming at PAX:EAST in March. Some of it was amazing other bits weren't that great or had too much 3D. 1 year ago
- AIexKabelo It's already difficult for me to buy a normal 20" ~ 30" normal DLC TV. Buying a 3D one is impossible xD

Most others on this thread have rejected 3D and I will never buy anything 3D.

3D TVs are not only too expensive but also the experience is nothing I need.

- MorbidNL I bought a 46 inch 3D tv because I wanted to upgrade my 28 inch oldtimer for a lcd tv. Must say the 3d experience is only worth it for a few games, like Super Stardust HD. The price of the tv wasn't that much higher than a regular lcd. 780 euries, inclusding a free nespresso machine which i sold for 50 euros :P5 months ago
