A simple debate on Trophy collecting

The question I want to ask is what do you believe to be more meaning full in the eyes of a trophy collector.
The idea that having more trophies is best or having less trophies being harder to obtain(in difficultly or in the amount of time needed to obtain)

Of course doing both would yield the most but which one do you place higher and why?

My opinion would be later because anyone could collect large amounts of simple trophies(Terminator: Salvation) but to gain all the trophies in say, White Knight Chronicles, it is said to take a few hundred hours and that's commitment to a game's trophies to me.

Well, if a trophy's requirement is really just to play the game lots and lots, I don't think it's as meaningfull as a trophy that would require actual skill. Like "kill 100000 players in multiplayer." Anyone can do that, if they just play enough. So that's all about dedication, which might be a merit in itself. But I prefer trophies that requires more skill than dedication.

Definetly not lots i.e. I find it so embarassing when I look on a guys list and they have platinumed Hannah Montana, Cars and all the other child games. Fair play if they have kids but usually the kids wouldn't have that sort of determination and it's blatantly just the parents trophy whoring!

I love getting 100% on my games and I am driven by hard trophies. This is purely for my own reputation! Even if no one cares...

Finaly found my way here to read me through the forums... I like the Trophys even if its sometimes impossible to get all.
I know some would say its not impossible but if u get an older game like Riddick or others , years after the release ... ur unable to get all.
There we are at a point where i say .. why they dont go and split the Trophys in two parts ... Single - and Multiplayer .... For me its impossible to get all trophys for the Online mode in Riddick tough cause no one plays it anymore.

I also go conform with MissSouthampton .... to get all trophies of that Games isnt that hard ;)

I enjoy collecting trophies for both easy and difficult games. I definitely pride myself more for collecting harder trophies. In fact I'm still grinding out multplayer trophies for both GTAIV and Far Cry 2 just so that I can Platinum both games.

Once I do it will be a very fine moment indeed.

I enjoy collecting all kins of trophies, but in my eyes there is nothing so fulfilling as getting a hard trophy that people respect. This is coming from a guy that has the Hannah Montana the Movie platinum.

Generally, my main purpose is attacking those respectful trophies. Unfortunately when I tried tackling both GTA IV, Resistance 2, and Battlefield Bad Company at the same time, I ended up gong for easy plats such as Hannah Montana and Ice Age to boost my morale.

Basically, in my view, easy plats are good for giving you motivation to knock out the harder ones.
